So how much does it cost to have your WordPress site managed by me?
The honest answer is that every site is different, but I like to be as transparent as possible when it comes to costs. I work like any good tradesman, they work out the cost of materials and how long it will take them to do the job. Similarly, I base my costs on how much time it will take me to manage your site for you and the costs for any services I use.
For example, a reasonably standard WordPress site with a few plugins and where you update the content semi-regularly, I charge around £75 a month. This is based on roughly an hour of my time and the costs of the services and storage for your backups.
The more critical a site is, the larger and more complex a site gets then the more time it will take me to manage it each month. I will need to work on your site more often if you are updating content regularly or using it as an online shop. For example, if you are a writer and publishing two or three posts a week, then you will want your site backing up in line with your new content being published.
If you are using your site for online bookings, e-commerce or other business-critical services then you will want it backing up daily and updating more regularly to ensure that everything is safe and secure.
You may think that the monthly costs to maintain your site are expensive but think of it as insurance, I work to prevent anything going wrong with your site and I’m on hand with your backup files to fix it if things do go wrong. If you don’t have this type of plan in place then how much time will you have to spend trying to fix things if they do go wrong? Will you be able to find someone to help you, will they be available? How much impact will your website being offline have on your business?
